The Day of Surprises

You've heard from Sarah about our great gift from the Amarillo Rotary Club to stay in Amarillo for the night. Supper, hotel, and great musical about Texas - all for free have been fun. Amazing mystery- why is the hotel pool water cold when the air temperature is 100? We'll post pictures after the musical tonight.

Here are some pictures from our first few days.

Our day at the Fort Worth Zoo

Sydney's new friends - The Roses' Grandchildren. Thanks for the great Texas hospitality.

It's great fun seeing old friends. Thanks Alan for making time for us.

I guess you know we stopped in Texas by now. Here's the first welcome station.

The Mississippi River - near our infamous casino stay. Did I say how much felt like Chevy Chase?

Our first Welcome Center.

If this works - it's a short video of the play TEXAS we saw tonight in a beautiful canyon called Palo Dura Canyon - south of Amarillo. Here's a link: http://www.palodurocanyon.com

Finally - I've got to mention that Marcia loved getting our first taste of the RT 66 culture here in Amarillo.

Thanks everyone for reading.

Blessings from Texas!

Eric
